Jessica Burke
About
Attorney Jessica Burke founded Burke Law in 2011. Attorney Burke has successfully defended major felonies (including murder, child sexual assault, and rape). She also has a strong reputation for effective DUI defense throughout Vermont. Attorney Burke is the current Vice Chair of the Vermont Judicial Nominating Board. Attorney Burke holds one of eight Serious Felony Unit contracts through the Office of the Vermont Defender General. These contracts are reserved for Vermont’s most serious criminal offenses.
In 2023, Attorney Burke was selected by the Vermont Supreme Court to serve as a member of the Vermont Advisory Committee on the Rules of Criminal Procedure. The Committee serves a vital role in the evolution of the Vermont criminal procedure. The Committee reviews the operation and effectiveness of existing criminal rules, receives proposals to change rules or to adopt new rules, and makes proposals to the Vermont Supreme Court, the bar, and the public, when rule changes are recommended.
