What happens during the initial case consultation?

Published by Jessica Burke on

At the initial case consultation there is meeting between a potential criminal defense client and his attorney. It can occur over the phone or in person. The experienced attorneys at Burke Law have worked with thousands of clients and will work with you from the consultation forward to create a strategic plan to defend your Vermont criminal charge.

Vermont criminal defense initial case consultations typically take about thirty minutes to an hour, depending on the complexity of the issues and how many questions the potential client has. It is important to us to make sure that our clients feel comfortable to ask questions throughout the representation process.

Our experienced attorneys will ask you about your case and listen to your thoughts, concerns and goals surrounding your defense. It is okay if you do not know every aspect of your case or have trouble remembering specific details. The criminal discovery process that occurs after your arraignment will provide extensive evidence for your attorney to review and allow us to build an individualized defense of your case. The initial criminal defense consultation is an opportunity for you to get to know us and for us to get a general outline of your case.
